The Senior Program Manager has ownership of the governance and project management of initiatives within the Payments team. As a Senior Program Manager, there will be a partnership with the various sub teams to support, and proactively work with them, to facilitate the work occurring between them and the stakeholders. They will help the teams to scope and plan projects including prioritisation, detailing business cases, objectives, roadmaps and main deliverables.
In this role, you will ensure that the projects of the Department teams are led in a consistent manner, whilst working with the stakeholders within Booking.com to build engagement and where needed governance over decisions needed for work to be signed off. In some cases, the role requires dealing with external representatives and handling external collaborators.
The Senior Program Manager will also help the different teams to mitigate the project risks and dependencies to make sure there is progress towards the project breakthroughs.
First and foremost, ensure the team's roadmaps/plans focus on agreed business priorities, dependencies and strategies – crafted based on data and business needs, and deliver against the shared objectives & goals.
Responsible:
- Apply structured methodology and lead project and change management activities
- Own the successful delivery of the end-to-end project lifecycle.
- Lead independently low / medium complexity projects with global impact (cross-functional) driving them through execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
- Apply change management processes and tools to build a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
- Engage and influence partners inside and if required outside of the organisation: work collaboratively with business unit partners (FinTech, O2C, Treasury, CS, etc) to drive enterprise strategy execution and partner on segment or functional strategy projects.
- Contribute to the Project prioritization and Planning including prioritisation across the teams.
- Track and report progress; Crafts clear planning documents together with involved team (members)
- Ensure a project closing and accurate handover to Business as usual. Hold project members accountable for the delivery of their part of the project.
- Understand achievements and impediments. Tracks progress, handles overall timelines, dependencies, risks & issues & supervise interdependencies (within & outside project)
- Ability to work and efficiently get along with different collaborators up to Director and VP level.
- (Where applicable) Support the development of Project Management skills for the all members.
Skills:
- Expert Program manager with 6+ years with a solid track record in handling the full E2E lifecycle on business & strategic projects
Hard skills
- 5-8 years of Program Manager experience
- Experience in SAP S4/Oracle Cloud implementation/transition
- Experience in business process transformation within a large organization,
- PMP and / or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is required.
- Lean Six Sigma certification and experience.
- Experience with project/change management methodology, tools and phases of the lifecycle
- Knowledge of similar industries and/or business projects (payments operations / finance). Online marketplace experience is helpful.
- Experience with large-scale organisational change efforts is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making and changes.
Soft skills
